Smart-Home-Wanddisplay
Home Assistant on the tablet in kiosk mode.
Use an Android tablet as a permanent home assistant dashboard. KioskPilot finds local instances, shows your dashboard in full screen, and helps restore the view after loading or network issues.
Home Assistant Dashboard als Wandpanel
A permanently mounted tablet makes lights, heating, energy, cameras and scenes operable where they are needed. KioskPilot loads the configured Home Assistant address directly in the Android System WebView. Private LAN addresses are expressly provided; public unencrypted HTTP destinations are not accepted.
Quick setup on the local network
The Home Assistant Quick Setup searches for accessible instances exclusively in your local network via mDNS. Only when you select a hit will the address be adopted as the homepage. The addresses found are not transferred to KioskPilot.
- Tablet verbinden: Put Android tablet and Home Assistant on the same local network.
- Select instance: Start Quick Setup or enter the internal HTTPS or permitted LAN address.
- Grenzen festlegen: Add the host to the domain allowlist and set an admin PIN.
- Ansicht testen: Practically check login, navigation, screen timeout and restart.
Stable operation instead of a black screen
A change in WiFi, a restart of Home Assistant or a temporary loading error can affect any wall display. The Kiosk Autopilot detects technical error conditions and attempts to restore the target page. Offline Rescue shows a clear backup view during a power outage.
Datenschutz im Smart Home
KioskPilot does not transfer the DOM, page text, form input, or browser history to the control plane. Without voluntary device coupling, operation remains local. When a device is paired, only defined technical states are processed for management and diagnostics.
